Sister Virgil Kummer passes away

Sister Vigil Kummer, OP, passed away Monday, October 25, 2021. She was a member of the Dominican Sisters of Sinsinawa. You can virtually view her wake at 6:30 p.m. (Central) Nov. 4 and Funeral Mass at 10:30 a.m. (Central) Nov. 5 at www.sinsinawa.org/live by clicking the "watch" button next to each event.
Sister Virgil ministered in the Diocese of Beaumont in the Worship Office in the 1980s and 1990s. While she was here, she was chosen as a cantor for Pope John Paul II’s Mass in San Antonio in 1987.
We keep Sister Virgil in our prayers and also pray for the consolation of her family, friends and religious community.
Eternal rest grant unto her, O Lord, and let perpetual light shine upon her.
May the souls of the faithful departed, through the mercy of God, rest in peace.
