Lent is a time for preparation says Bishop Guillory

“Our final destination is not here in the here and now,” said Bishop Curtis Guillory, SVD, during Ash Wednesday Mass at Saint Anthony Cathedral Basilica Feb.14. “But our ultimate destination is with God forever. To be with him forever means to be prepared.”

Bishop Guillory reminded those present that Ash Wednesday begins a season of Lent when Catholics prepare themselves for the Lord through intense prayer, almsgiving, and penance.
