Full-time Editor – Stewardship & Communications Department

The Diocese of Beaumont has an opening for a full-time Editor in the Stewardship and Communications Department to assist in all aspects of editing communication and development materials especially, but not limited to those associated with the diocesan newspaper and those associated with grant solicitation. Interested party must be highly motivated, able to work efficiently and accurately in a fast paced environment, and able to maintain confidentiality. Applicant should possess a Bachelor’s Degree in Communications, Journalism, or Public Relations and at least two years’ experience, or four years in the Communications field and should be proficient in InDesign and Photoshop as well as have knowledge of newspaper style and photography. Additional skills needed are ability to work independently and meet deadlines, ability to manage the reporting and production for the newspaper, experience in editing news copy, building pages for the newspaper, and assisting with social media posts and online newspaper articles. Candidates must be capable of building and maintaining relationships with secular media, news agencies, and newsmakers, and possess excellent communication and organizational skills.  The position includes an attractive benefits package. Greets clients as they enter the center, completes Agency Intake Assessments on new clients, and maintains daily Guest Registers. Ensures complete and accurate data entry of all clients and services in the agency’s data management system (ClientTrack). Part-Time: 19 hours per week. Must work weekends and Holidays.  High School diploma or GED.
