Unity Explosion celebrates faith, culture

“We need Black culture, respect and courage in the Church and in the world. So help us recognize this in the Holy Spirit,” said Archbishop Gustavo Garcia-Siller, MSpS, celebrating Mass June 7 to open the Unity Explosion 2018 Evangelization and Liturgy Conference in San Antonio.

Parishioners from the Diocese of Beaumont are joining parishioners from other dioceses in Texas, Arkansas and Oklahoma at the conference to recognize, embrace and share the gifts that American Catholics of African descent bring to the Church. This year’s theme is “Pray. Listen. Learn. Think. Act.”
