Boy and Girl Scouts of all ages gathered Sunday at St. Anthony Cathedral Basilica’s noon Mass for Scout Sunday, Feb. 7.
Bishop Curtis Guillory, SVD, compared Scouts working together to the relationship one would have with Jesus — as a partnership.
“As Scouts, you work together on projects,” Bishop Guillory said. “It’s a source of strength in a way to share your skill with someone else’s skill in a project that is probably too big for one person. If there’s more than one person working on it, it’s probably much better than working by yourself.”
In the Cathedral Basilica Center after Mass, Bishop Guillory presented various religious awards to members of different troops and packs to commend their reverence to God.
Five adults and two Knights of Columbus groups were also recognized for their service and support of the Scouts in the Diocese of Beaumont.
