Monsignor Marceaux Passes Away at Walter Reed Hospital

The Most Reverend Curtis J. Guillory, Bishop of Beaumont, will offer a concelebrated Pontifical Memorial Mass for Ch. Col. Msgr. Sidney J. Marceaux, J.C.L., on Saturday, October 11, 2008, at 11:00 AM, St. Anthony Cathedral Basilica, Beaumont, Tx.  A reception will follow in the Cathedral Basilica Center.  Members of Monsignor Marceaux's family will be present for the Mass and Reception.

"It is with great sadness that I heard of the death of Monsignor Marceaux. He was a committed and dedicated priest of the diocese," said Bishop Curtis J. Guillory, Bishop of the Diocese of Beaumont.

"He spent much of his life in ministry to Catholic soldiers, especially those in danger zones. Those included Operation Desert Storm and in Haiti, Kuwait and Iraq. He was an exemplary priest, as are all the priests of our diocese," said Bishop Guillory.


The Military funeral service for Ch. Col. Msgr. Sidney Marceaux, J.C.L., will be held on October 20, 2008, Fort Meyer Chapel, promptly at 2:45 PM.

At 3:30 PM precisely, the burial procession begins to the grave site in Arlington National Cemetery.   Most Reverend Curtis J. Guillory, Bishop of Beaumont, will celebrate the Mass of Christian Burial.
