Stewardship Reflections:
Reflection - - 8th Pentecost - - May 11, 2008
In the second reading today, St. Paul reminds the Corinthians, “There are different gifts, but the same Spirit; there are different ministries but the same Lord.” How am I using my gifts “for the common good”?
Reflection - - 7th Ascension Weekend - - May 4, 2008
In today's reading from the Acts of the Apostles, Jesus tells his disciples that they must now begin the work of spreading the Gospel message, not only in their own community, but in neighboring communities and finally to the ends of the earth. Is my stewardship limited to my parish and my town or do I include the diocese, the entire Southeast Texas community and the larger Church in my giving.
Reflection - - 6th Sunday of Easter - - April 27, 2008
Those who obey the commandments, Jesus says in today’s Gospel, are the ones who really love Him. Does my stewardship reveal my love for Jesus?
Reflection - - 5th Sunday of Easter - - April 20, 2008
“The one who has faith in me will do the works I do, and far greater than these,” Jesus tells his disciples. That’s quite an assignment for us as Christian stewards but we can start by voluntering our time to our parish and supporting its good works through our financial gift each week.
