The 18th annual Breakfast with the Bishop April 25 at St. Anne, Beaumont, left hundreds of people full and raised much needed money for Catholic Charities of Southeast Texas.
Besides receiving a delicious breakfast, attendees also got the chance to visit with Bishop Curtis Guillory, SVD. Other priests and religious were also on hand delivering service with a smile at the all-you-can eat breakfast.
A longstanding tradition at the Breakfast with the Bishop fundraiser is the presentation of the Humanitarian Award to a person in the community who has served selflessly.
Clara Jo Liberto and Mr. and Mrs. H.P. Robichau Sr. received the Humanitarian award this year. The Robichaus received the award posthumously for their work with the poor since the 1950s.
The award is offered to an individual or organization who “by exemplary service, work, leadership or dedication, has furthered the Mission of Catholic Charities.” The Catholic Charities Board of Directors determines who will receive the Humanitarian Award.
