Are you a tweeter? Have tweeps? Or know tweeple?

If you understand these questions then you need to know this as well – Southeast Texas has a new voice in the Twittersphere – Bishop Curtis J. Guillory, SVD, of the Beaumont Diocese.

Yes, he has joined the social networking Twitter and is now getting into the world of hashtags, retweets and twooshes.

“I think it was a great idea for Bishop Guillory to join Twitter,” said Karen Gilman, associate director of communications. “Jesus told us to go out to where the people are – and networking sites such as Twitter are where people interact and find information.”

Bishop Guillory’s first few tweets talked about the youth and the youth convention.

His first, “is regretting I can’t be at Youth Convention. This will be the 1st I’ve missed. My prayers are with our youth and youth ministers,” got posted June 24 as many of the youth groups were traveling to Houston for the youth conference.

According to the Twitter website, Twitter is a service for friends, family, and co–workers to communicate and stay connected through the exchange of quick, frequent answers to one simple question: What are you doing?

If you are a twitterer and want to keep up with Bishop Guillory’s tweets go to Twitter and search for BishopGuillory.
