The “CitySide Walks” downtown Beaumont walking tour brochure provides a wealth of information about local museums, historical sites, dining and entertainment that folds up and fits in your pocket. St. Anthony Cathedral Basilica is featured as one of the recommended sites to visit.
Major metropolitan areas like Philadelphia and San Francisco have been using walking tour brochures for many years. They are beneficial to both tourists and residents alike.
The map supplies a clear visual depiction of downtown Beaumont and its most popular tourist attractions. There is also a brief history and interesting information of the designated sites. Most of the sites are free or of minimal cost. There are 10 sites to visit, three different areas for food and entertainment and five extra sites to see.
The 10 sites to visit are the Fire Museum, the Edison Museum, the Tevis Monument, the Art Museum of Southeast Texas, the Energy Museum, the Julie Rogers Theater, the Tyrrell Historical Library, the Jefferson Theater, Hotel Beaumont and the San Jacinto Building. The three dining and entertainment areas are: Crockett Street, Suga’s Deep South Cuisine and Jazz Bar and Taste of Orleans. The extra sites to see are: The Centennial Building, Riverfront Park, The Civic Center, MLK Park and St. Anthony Cathedral Basilica.
The “CitySide Walks” walking tour brochure is provided by the Southeast Texas Arts Council through the generosity of the City of Beaumont and Jefferson County. The Southeast Texas Arts Council is a non-profit organization dedicated to promoting the local arts and humanities in our community.
The free “CitySide Walks” walking tour brochures are available at the Ben Rogers Visitor Center at Ford Park and the Beaumont Convention and Visitors Bureau in downtown Beaumont.
